The University of Calgary - Mechanical Engineering Building
This multi-phased renovation project reinvigorated and highlighted the building as a critical component of the Schulich School of Engineering at the University of Calgary. The isolated location of the building – across a major road from the rest of the campus – severely impacted the presence of the building and its users within the campus community. The project included the creation of a new identity and front door for the building facing south to the rest of the campus and the CNRL Engineering Complex.
Academic and research objectives for the project included creating more permeable classroom, lobby, collaboration and lobby spaces, (physically and visually), to proudly showcase the creativity and innovation taking place within the building.
