This project represents the heart of the City of Calgary and served as a focal point for the 1988 Olympics. The area is a flexible urban park which is fully accessible and completely safe for the public. It encompasses an entire city block and was designed to accommodate crowds of up to 60,000 people. The public continues to enjoy the amenities Olympic Plaza has to offer, including ice skating, wading ponds, fountains, a small amphitheatre, sitting areas, gardens and a major stage.
