The Edison

Recladding and renovating the podium of the onetime Pan Canadian Office building, this project aims to bring vitality and life to an important intersection in Downtown Calgary. The redesign of the facade and plaza respects the history of the building and celebrates its history and CPR affiliation. Rail motifs and influences are seen through elements of the site design and details of the construction. The plaza is envisioned as a great outdoor social space and takes advantage of the sun filled orientation with casual and formal gathering and eating areas. On the interior, the plus 15 network is moved to the south side of the building into a larger and open lobby atrium providing better and more active tenant spaces on both of the first two floors. The interior design of the building creates a unique "boutique" office atmosphere distinguishing the property from the typical downtown office market. The result is a warm and inviting office lobby with an amazing tenant lounge and great connectivity to Calgary's urban realm
