The Banff Centre’s administration program required an addition of 550 sq. m which is accommodated in a two level addition on the south side of the existing Smith Hall and the vertical circulation to the east. The design approach for the addition is to clearly distinguish the new from the old by taking a more contemporary approach to the design - knitting together the existing building vocabulary with a more contemporary vocabulary that speaks to the Kinnear Centre directly to the South.
